The idea<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Greeting board was our idea for an appliance that could help people with memory related
difficulties stay in touch with their loved ones.
Each picture on the left hand side of the board doubles as a button that the user can push in
order to get relevant information about the person that is depicted, depicted on the display on
the right hand side. Along with a video with a greeting from the person\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Technology<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n\nIn order to create the prototype we used a raspberry PI, running a third party program.
Allowing us to set up a customized experience. We then connected the device to an exhibition
display and created homemade buttons for each picture.\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

User input<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n\nWe approached professional caretakers and administrators that worked daily with dementia
patients and alike, conducting interviews and approaching them with proposals for how the
idea could be executed for them to critique. Throughout the interview I would pose questions
and potential problems that I could see our target group having with the usage.
While I would be eager to have worked closer with our target users, not being entirely
content with the approval of caretakers alone. This proved to be difficult with the time and
resources we were allocated at the time.
If we did have more time, I would have liked to explore whether they would be reliably able
to recognize the pictures as clickable, the readability of the text, and the shape of the box. As
I feel like shape language could make the board more visually appealing to the user base.\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

My Work<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n\nThis was a group project where I worked along with 2 other people. My role was primarily in
the development of the prototype. Where I was responsible for the technological side of
things, as well as a significant portion of the design, and conducting interviews. While others
focused on the visual design of the board, and organizing materials, videos, and meetings.\n\n\n\n
